School of International Education and Daxing District Commerce Bureau Conduct Special Research on International Student Entrepreneurship

To gain an in-depth understanding of Daxing District’s industrial landscape, business environment, and entrepreneurial support resources, as well as to clarify the pathways and opportunities available to international students seeking to start businesses in the district, the School of International Education and the Daxing District Commerce Bureau jointly organized a special research activity themed “International Student Entrepreneurship in Daxing” on the afternoon of June 10. Officials from the Daxing District Commerce Bureau, representatives and faculty members from the School of International Education, and more than 20 international students from 12 countries participated in the activity.

The research team visited three major industrial sites: Zhongguancun Medical Device Park, Xinfangsheng Digital Intelligence Technology Co., Ltd., and the Beijing Digital Economy Global Expansion Base. Through on-site visits to key industrial parks and leading enterprises, participants gained first-hand insight into the development of Daxing District’s major industries, including medical devices, intelligent manufacturing, and the global expansion of the digital economy. They also systematically learned about the district’s policies and supporting services for foreign-related entrepreneurship.

At Zhongguancun Medical Device Park, the research team visited the park’s comprehensive exhibition hall and learned about its overall planning, industrial positioning, and development prospects. The participants also viewed intelligent medical devices and cutting-edge healthcare products developed by enterprises based in the park, gaining a deeper appreciation of the park’s industrial clustering advantages in the high-end medical device sector.

At Xinfangsheng Digital Intelligence Technology Co., Ltd., the research team toured the company’s factory outlet and warehousing exhibition area. Participants examined a wide range of warehoused products, including hardware tools, firefighting equipment, electrical devices, and home improvement and construction materials. They gained a deeper understanding of the company’s one-stop warehousing network and supporting services for cross-border exports, while experiencing its strong domestic and international market operations and global development strategy.

At the Beijing Digital Economy Global Expansion Base, the research team gained a comprehensive understanding of the base’s overall development, service offerings, and strategic planning. Serving as a two-way bridge for Chinese enterprises expanding overseas and foreign-funded enterprises entering China, the base has established a full-chain service and support system covering policy implementation, resource coordination, and entrepreneurship facilitation, thereby providing strong support for international talent seeking to start businesses in China.

Study Visit to the Beijing Digital Economy Global Expansion Base

This joint research activity involving the university, local government, and enterprises represents a practical step by the School of International Education to deepen university–district collaboration and support international students in pursuing innovation and entrepreneurship in Daxing. It also constitutes a valuable exploration of ways to strengthen Beijing’s role as a center for international exchanges and promote the two-way flow of international talent. Going forward, the School of International Education will continue to strengthen its regular cooperation with the Daxing District Commerce Bureau. It will organize a range of distinctive activities, including industry-oriented study programs, policy briefings, and entrepreneurship matchmaking events. By fully leveraging Daxing District’s high-quality industrial platforms and first-class business resources, the School will facilitate seamless connections across the entire process of international student education, entrepreneurial practice, and business establishment. These efforts will help attract outstanding international talent and contribute to the high-quality development of Daxing District’s internationally oriented industries and global talent ecosystem.
