International Students from Our University Achieve New Success in the Advanced Stage Selection of the 6th “Stories of China Retold in English” Challenge
The “Stories of China Retold in English” Challenge is a comprehensive humanities activity for young people from China and abroad, focusing on the dissemination of Chinese culture. This year’s competition attracted more than 170,000 Chinese and international young participants from 149 countries and regions. A total of 5,078 international students from 257 universities across China took part in the competition. After rigorous evaluation in the preliminary stage, 1,634 international students advanced to the Advanced Stage.
Since the launch of the competition, the School of International Education has attached great importance to the event, carried out extensive mobilization, and made careful arrangements. The school provided one-on-one guidance for contestants on competition rules, helped them improve their speech content, polished their stage performance, and encouraged international students to tell vivid and multidimensional China stories based on their real experiences of studying and living in China.
Through their participation, international students not only deepened their understanding and recognition of fine traditional Chinese culture, but also effectively promoted cultural exchange and mutual learning between Chinese and foreign civilizations. At the same time, these achievements have further enhanced the visibility and reputation of the “Study at BIGC” brand, demonstrating the university’s level of international education.
The School of International Education will take this competition as an opportunity to continue improving the international student training system and cultural immersion education. Relying on various high-level cultural competitions, the school will continue to encourage international students to tell China’s stories well and spread Chinese culture, cultivate more high-level international talents who know, understand, and love China, and contribute “BIGC strength” to promoting people-to-people exchanges between China and the world.
