To help students effectively address difficulties in handling documents for overseas study and travel, a special session titled “Consular Services on Campus: A Lecture on Authentication Knowledge” was held on the afternoon of April 22 in Conference Room 1 on the 15th floor of the Xinchuan Building at Beijing Institute of Graphic Communication. The event was jointly organized by the Consular Service Center of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the University’s Office of International Affairs, Student Affairs Department, and School of International Education, and was chaired by Wang Ying, Deputy Director of the Office of International Affairs. Tian Ziwei from the Consular Service Center of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs served as the keynote speaker. Around 60 Chinese and international students attended the session.

The University holds the “Consular Services on Campus” information session.
The lecture covered key topics including the basic concepts of consular authentication, the differences between single authentication and dual authentication, the Hague Convention and apostilles, major points for handling commonly used campus documents such as graduation certificates, degree certificates, transcripts, and birth certificates, as well as special requirements of different countries. The Consular Service Center also introduced a “one-stop service for universities,” offering dedicated staff support, one-on-one consultation, strict document review, convenient mailing services, and batch on-site collection of documents during the graduation season. These specialized services can effectively shorten the processing time and help students avoid delays in overseas study caused by document-related issues.
With the continuous improvement of the University’s internationalization, students’ demand for overseas study and travel has been steadily increasing. To address the practical difficulties students encounter when applying for consular authentication, apostilles, and other related procedures, the Consular Service Center of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs took the initiative to enter the campus and deliver a practical lecture that was easy to understand and useful in practice. This event was a concrete measure to put into practice the principle of “diplomacy for the people,” as well as a reflection of the University’s commitment to service-oriented education and support for students’ international development. In the future, the University will continue to cooperate with the Consular Service Center of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to provide students with more convenient and professional consular authentication services.
