2026-04-16

To thoroughly implement the holistic approach to national security and guide international students to better understand China’s national security concepts and knowledge, the School of International Education organized international students on campus to participate in the university’s National Security Education Day Carnival on April 15, in celebration of the 11th National Security Education Day. Through immersive, interactive, and experiential learning activities, the event helped international students gain a comprehensive understanding of national security-related knowledge and experience the strong atmosphere surrounding China’s commitment to “coordinating development and security to safeguard the new journey of the 15th Five-Year Plan.” The activity further deepened students’ understanding and recognition of China’s holistic approach to national security.

The carnival combined educational content with entertainment and interaction. Several themed sections were set up on site, including exhibitions, knowledge quizzes, security experience activities, and legal education displays. The event covered key areas such as political security, cultural security, cyber security, social security, and foreign-related security, closely addressing the practical needs of international students studying and living in China. During the event, international students stopped to read the exhibition boards carefully and actively participated in interactive quizzes and simulated experience activities. In a relaxed and engaging atmosphere, they gained a more direct understanding of the meaning and importance of China’s national security and realized that national security is closely connected to everyone’s daily life, studies, and personal interests.

International students from different countries shared their thoughts and experiences after the event. They noted that the carnival was innovative in format and rich in content. It not only helped them systematically learn about China’s national security knowledge, but also enabled them to better understand the people-centered philosophy behind China’s holistic approach to national security. They also came to realize the importance of obeying Chinese laws and regulations and maintaining social order during their study and life in China. The students expressed that during their time in China, they would actively strengthen their awareness of security knowledge, consciously abide by Chinese laws and regulations, respect Chinese cultural customs, promote security awareness, and strive to become ambassadors of friendship and active contributors to campus safety and harmony.

This activity was not only a concrete measure by the School of International Education to promote education on the holistic approach to national security, but also an important opportunity to help international students better integrate into and understand China. The event effectively enhanced international students’ awareness of China’s national security concepts, legal consciousness, and cultural identification. Moving forward, the School of International Education will continue to organize diverse and practical national security education activities based on the characteristics and needs of international students. The School will further guide international students to learn, understand, observe, and apply the law, strengthen campus safety awareness, help build a safe, harmonious, and stable campus environment, and promote deeper cultural exchange and integration between China and other countries.
