Inherit and promote printing civilization, innovate and develop publishing culture. On the afternoon of 26th April, the School of International Education organized international students to visit the China Printing Museum. The theme of this event is "Printing China with movable type and spreading culture to the world", aiming to promote the excellent printing civilization of China. This activity helps international students understand the history of movable type printing, explore the beauty of Chinese characters, appreciate the charm of printing, and experience intangible cultural heritage. This is an important part of the Freshman Education Series of the School. A total of 45 international students, teachers and counselors participated in this event.
The China Printing Museum is currently the largest printing professional museum in the world. International students have visited the Exhibition Hall of Ancient Chinese Printing and the Exhibition Hall of Modern World Printing. From the professional interpretation of the commentator, students can understand the origin, development and dissemination of printing, one of China's the Four Great Inventions, as well as the introduction and development of modern printing technology. Students feel that printing has played a huge role in promoting the progress of human civilization. At the end of the visit, international students immersively experienced the ancient Chinese printing process and created their own twelve zodiac woodblock printing works.
Through this visit to the China Printing Museum, international students have learned about traditional and modern Chinese printing techniques, experienced the charm of Chinese characters and printing, and gained a more intuitive and in-depth understanding of the vast and profound Chinese printing culture. International students have expressed that they will strive to become disseminators of Chinese culture and introduce a comprehensive, three-dimensional, and authentic China to the world in the future.
