On the afternoon of 9th November, the School of International Education held a lecture on "A Journey to Chinese Tea Culture" as scheduled. More than 20 students, including the student supervisors, teachers and international students from different countries, attended the lecture online. The lecture was presided by Mr. Fang Yi, the deputy dean. Dr. Wu Xiaofang, a teacher of the school, gave the lecture.
Appreciate the charm of Chinese tea ceremony with international students through tea as a medium, perform the rushing, brewing, tasting and tasting of tea ceremony on site, and talk about the classic tea culture, Dr. Wu Xiaofang introduced the origin, development and classification of Chinese tea. She analyzed the similarities and differences between Chinese and Western tea cultures in detail, and explained the relationship between Chinese tea ceremony and Chinese traditional philosophy. Tea ceremony is the integration of the positive spirit of Confucianism and the wisdom of Taoism, which is the essence of Eastern philosophy and culture. International students listened to the lecture with great interest. During the interactive session, students had in-depth exchanges and discussions on topics of tea culture that they were interested in. Five foreign students from Pakistan, Ethiopia, Iran and other countries introduced the history and characteristics of their country's tea drinking, and shared their understanding of Chinese tea culture and life experience.
The School of International Education has held several special lectures this semester, providing connotation support for strengthening the academic environment and improving the cultural environment of the school. The school will also continue to explore the idea of international talent training and constantly create an international environment of "Study at BIGC".
