University Leaders Celebrate Spring Festival with International Students Staying on Campus

On February 16, Chinese New Year’s Eve of the Bingwu Year, Zhang Xin, Secretary of the University Party Committee, Tian Zhongli, Deputy Secretary of the University Party Committee and President, Liu Zunzhong, Member of the Standing Committee of the University Party Committee and Vice President, together with heads of relevant university functional departments, visited and extended festive greetings to international students staying on campus during the winter vacation.


On behalf of the university, Zhang Xin extended best wishes for the Spring Festival to all international students. He encouraged the students to cherish their study experience in China, strive for excellence in academic studies, and actively engage in campus life beyond the classroom to better understand contemporary China and appreciate the charm of traditional Chinese culture. He also urged students to prioritize safety, maintain a reasonable schedule, and take good care of their physical and mental health. He stressed that all functional departments of the university would provide comprehensive support and services to ensure a safe and comfortable campus environment, serving as a strong backing for students while studying abroad.Tian Zhongli joined the students in writing the Chinese character “Fu” (blessing). He noted that the Spring Festival is the most important traditional festival in China, and writing “Fu” characters is not only a folk custom but also an important way to convey good wishes and strengthen cultural identity. He encouraged the students to take the Spring Festival experience as an opportunity to deepen their understanding and affection for Chinese culture through immersive experiences, and strive for greater progress in the new year.University leaders also presented Spring Festival gift packages to the students, bringing them heartfelt care and warm greetings from the university.

On the same day, the School of International Education held a Spring Festival Garden Party for international students. Adorned with hanging lanterns and filled with the aroma of ink and cheerful laughter, the venue immersed international students in the charm of traditional Chinese Spring Festival culture.Students enthusiastically wrote the Chinese character “Fu” (blessing) and joined a series of interactive games infused with traditional Chinese cultural elements, including Happy Puzzle for the Year of the Horse, Steed Arrow Shot, Lucky Ping-Pong, Circle the Blessing on Horseback, and Flying Ball Leaping over the Horse. Through joyful participation and collaboration, they experienced the lively, festive, and harmonious atmosphere of the Spring Festival.With enthusiastic involvement and mutual cooperation, the students gained a deeper understanding and affection for Chinese culture through interactive experiences. The venue was permeated with a festive atmosphere of reunion and harmony throughout the event.

On behalf of all international students, the student representatives expressed their sincere gratitude and best wishes to the university. They stated that amid the festive celebrations, they would immerse themselves in the charm of traditional Chinese culture, properly arrange their campus life, study even harder, and actively share their own cultures to promote cross-cultural exchanges between China and other countries, so as to contribute to deepening friendship among nations. They also wished the university continued prosperity and development, and wished China a prosperous and auspicious new Year with peace and stability.
